Do you think investing in Peter Lik photography ” art ” is a scam ?
I feel like the sales people over hype/ over state the potential value of Peter Lic’s photograph art images. They wanted $40,000 for one of the photos at the Las Vegas location, It’s a photo not an original art piece, This just seem like a scam to me, what’s your take ?
Peter Lik’s accomplishments both artistically and professionally have elevated him to the status of being the top artist in his field. No attempts are made to hide the pricing structure, which is a simple sliding scale based on the availability of a photograph.
Some of Peter’s more famous images have gone on to sell out or are nearing the close of their edition. Because of this, they often have an increased price associated with them.
While the art consultants at the galleries will be open about this, it is still art and should be collected because the collector connects with the image. The medium of photography is different in nature than an original painting, for example, and holds value due to the limited number that will ever be produced.
