can i change my son’s child trust fund to a different account and bank?

i wasnt sure about trust funds then and so i let them open the account with Natwest and it was a stakeholder’s account. hes had that now for nearly 6yrs. ive since had another child and have opened a child savings trust fund account with Nationwide this time, and i would like to change my son’s to the same type of account with Nationwide.
i went to the Natwest to see an advisor but she didnt seem to know much about child trust funds at all, and gave me the impression that if i transferred to another bank (as Natwest dont have the savings type child trust fund), my son would probably lose all of his child trust fund. i just want to go to Nationwide and talk to them and see if they can sort it all out for me, as my local Natwest has always been rubbish face-to-face.
would i really lose all my sons trust fund, and could Nationwide transfer it over for me?

Hopefully I can help!

Transferring a CTF is fairly easy and you are free to move your account to somewhere else. To make the change, which is easy to do, the registered contact must request a transfer form from the provider you want to move the account to – so in your case this would be Nationwide. The new provider then takes care of the transfer for you including letting the government know.
