Will we have to pay taxes on money we inherit from a trust fund?
My father set up a trust fund to care for my mother after he died. When she passes away, the money from that trust fund will be split evenly between my 4 brothers and myself. Will we have to pay taxes on it?
as you state, at her passing the trust will be divided between your siblings and you, and this is inheritance and not taxable
you need to check the state you are in, some states do tax inheritance

The Killam Trusts $92.4 The Killam Trusts were established in 1965 after the death of Mrs. Dorothy J. Killam, the wife of Izaak Walton Killam. Mr. Killam was a Canadian business figure. He died in 1955, but before his death he and his wife discussed in extensive detail a scholarship plan, on which the Killam Trusts were founded.
